Don't Panic, It's Just Anxiety | Lone Doctrine

"Butterflies in your stomach before an important event? Worried about how you will meet a deadline? Nervous about a medical or dental procedure? If so, you are like most people, for whom some worry about major events (like having a child, taking an exam, or buying a house), and/or practical issues (like money or health conditions), is a normal part of life. Similarly, it is not uncommon to have fears about certain things (like spiders, injections, or heights) that cause you to feel some fear, worry, and/or apprehension. For example, many people get startled and feel nervous when they see a snake or a large insect. People can differ in what causes them to feel anxious, but almost everyone experiences some anxiety in the course of their life." - Anxiety.org

Now, we can look at anxiety from many different angles. We can look at it from a medical standpoint, a esoteric standpoint, an every day standpoint, a situational standpoint. The point I’m trying to make is that the spectrum is vast. When we hear the word anxious, "I’m feeling anxious about my job interview..." that seems like a normal occurrence but when you hear, "I suffer from anxiety attacks..." it all of sudden becomes something more serious or an illness. I feel, it’s not this or that. It’s complex and that’s okay because the complexity of some life circumstances allows for more opportunity.

You might be asking, what do you mean by that? Challenges are opportunities. If we are willing, in a way, to face the music we can then be more open to see all the different opportunities and options as we approach a challenge. If it’s in our minds or taught that it’s can only be this or that it get very hard to find a resolution, there’s always options. Options inside options, where one NEVER GIVES UP.

I find there’s great strength and courage in facing your emotions. YOU ARE HUMAN. Even just one step at a time makes a HUGE difference. It’s a compound affect that will lead you toward a better way of life. “One step is all it takes, possibility.”
